Jamall Merritt
VICE CHAIRMAN
Jamall Merritt is a dedicated community leader, youth development professional, and mentor with more than a decade of experience supporting young people in Flint and the surrounding communities. He currently serves as a TeenQuest Facilitator and Success Coach, equipping youth with essential career-readiness skills, and as a Youth Mentor with Peckham Inc., where he guides participants in their personal and professional development.
A servant leader with a strong foundation in public service, Jamall served in the United States Marine Corps and as an on-call firefighter with the Mt. Morris Township Fire Department. His professional experience also includes program leadership and operations management, with responsibility for curriculum development, budgeting, and community-based initiatives.
In October 2025, Jamall was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of GenWEL United. In this leadership role, he collaborates with fellow board members to help shape organizational strategy, strengthen community partnerships, and broaden the organization’s impact.
Jamall is also a participant in the Lead Now cohort through Leadership Flint & Genesee, further sharpening his leadership skills and deepening his engagement in community advancement.
He remains deeply committed to empowering youth, strengthening communities, and helping create lasting opportunities for future generations.
